Cambre developed and manages a full service trade association for the independent travel distribution sector in Europe. Activities include management of the association and its working groups, web site development/maintenance, media outreach and events organisation in Brussels.
Brief
The independent online travel distribution industry, composed of global distribution systems and online travel vendors, was traditionally fragmented and never had a single strong representative body in the EU. Major players in the industry wished to change this and gave Cambre the task to develop and manage a trade association to represent this very dynamic and versatile industry vis-à-vis relevant policy makers in Brussels and the EU Member States, other industry stakeholders, and the European media.
Our approach
Cambre set up the European Technology & Travel Services Association (ETTSA), combining the various building blocks of a fully integrated public affairs and public relations programme. In a cost-effective way, Cambre leverages its association management experience plus insight and expertise in the travel distribution industry to handle the association’s day-to-day management, and coordination of its activities, as well as political communications, industry relations, web presence, and media outreach.
Results
Since Cambre has been running ETTSA, the industry has gone from having no formal representation in the EU to boasting a well-functioning, efficient and effective trade body. ETTSA is now a dynamic organisation which quickly adapts to changes in the political and commercial environment, and is recognised as a trused partner for relevant policy makers in Brussels and national capitals, a resource for the media, and an important player respected by other industry stakeholders.
