Cambre Associates is boosting its tech practice to meet growing client demand with the addition of EU policy expert Nicolas Gyss, formerly at Telenor Group and DG CNECT.

The move is part of the steady expansion of Cambre’s tech practice as a result of new business and wider remits from existing clients.

“We’re delighted to welcome a tech policy practitioner of such calibre and experience to our flourishing tech team. Nicolas will immediately help service expanding new client needs and also work on business development,” Cambre CEO Tom Parker said.

Nicolas is joining Cambre from Telenor Group where he was director of EU affairs, representing the company at GSMA Europe and ETNO, including as a member of their boards and some working groups.

He was previously a policy officer at the European Commission’s DG CNECT where he worked on cybersecurity, media and telecom policies. He also served as assistant to the Director General. Both roles included relations with the industry, Commission services and Cabinets.

Nicolas has since 2008 served on a voluntary basis as Secretary General of the European sport policy think tank, Sport et Citoyenneté.
